Bruno Lemay, DMD

Dr. Bruno Lemay founded Desert Dental Alternatives in 2002, in a building on Ramon Road that he built from the ground up. He has practiced dentistry for 36 years: 10 in Canada and 26 in California. His focus is dental implants, full-mouth reconstruction and cosmetic dentistry, and he leads treatment planning for the practice’s most complex cases.

He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Université Laval in Quebec in 1990. Early in his career he opened practices in a remote area of northern Quebec, which gave him the chance to learn and practice every field of dentistry, including cosmetic work, root canals and surgery. He went on to open and manage 10 dental offices in Quebec and to supervise and train a team of nine dentists. He also completed certificates in orthodontics at the Institut Dentaire International in Longueuil in 1992.

Dr. Lemay has held a California dental license since 1999. When he arrived in the Coachella Valley he consulted in several local dental offices from 2000 to 2003, performing root canal and gum procedures, before opening Desert Dental Alternatives.

Implants have been the thread through his career. He is a Fellow in implantology of the California Implant Institute and a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and he has placed mini dental implants since 2001. Earlier in his career he founded the Canadian Mini Implant Institute and taught the mini implant technique to dentists in Canada and California. He has been a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry since 2002.

Patients describe him as upfront about options and costs, and as the doctor who calls personally after a significant procedure to check how they are doing. He speaks English and French.
